Bugzilla allows you to customize the default setting according to your requirements. This can be done using the five available preferences.

  • General Preferences
  • Email Preferences
  • Saved Searches
  • Account Information
  • Permissions

General Preferences

You can use general preferences you can change Bugzilla appearance, position of the comment box, and much more. Most of the options are self-explanatory and doesn’t require in-depth knowledge about the tool.

You can change the general preferences by following the steps mentioned below.

Note: In this case, it will change the background skin.

  1. Go to Bugzilla general preferences.
  2. Choose the Bugzilla’s general preference (skin) and submit.1
  3. Once submitted, you will get a message saying, changes have been saved. This will change the background color of the screen.

Email Preferences

Email preferences allow you to manage the sender and the way the message will be received.

You can set the Email preferences by following the steps mentioned below.

  1. Click e-mail preferences
  2. Chose ‘Enable All Mail’ or ‘Disable All Mail’ to control the notification of changes to bugs.3
  3. Set Global options, if required.
  4. Set the Field/recipient specific options.
  5. Submit the changes.

Saved Search Preferences

This caters the need to control sharing of bugs.

  1. Click saved searches
  2. You will get the options like edit bugs, don’t share, can confirm, etc.4
  3. You can also run bugs. This can be done by clicking ‘Run’ by going to the saved search preference.5
  4. This will open your bugs.6
  5. You can select the users to share the search using the checkbox against the users.7
